LOVE the look! I always wanted a blackwidow but never bit the bullet to buy it. I immediately decided to purchase it when I saw there’s a white one. So far it had been working perfectly, except for the times Synapse wouldn’t work. The color in the first pic is a bit off since I have a yellow light bulb. The second one is more accurate.Make sure you download the newest Synapse software for things like overwatch chroma colors. It’s awesome!I use it intensively for work, on Pro Tools (audio software if you don’t know). I have macros programmed on it, and linked Pro Tools to the profile. As long as Synapse doesn’t bug out, it’s been running perfectly. As mentioned, the Synapse software does sometimes mess up. I absolutely hate when I’m in full screen game and the app just stops working, making my whole keyboard unusable… Normally it’ll work if I close the app down but in full screen mode, sometimes it’s not an option since sometimes you need to press a key to use cursor… What I did was hook up another keyboard just to exit out of the game. Try reinstall the software if it randomly stops working. There’s really nothing else you can do as they are still trying to develop the software.

I’ve gone through many keyboards before this one, and this one is my favorite. In the case someone actually reads this it’s quite likely that you are comparing this to other gaming keyboards. Allow me to answer some of your questions. I have been through the Blackwidow chroma v1, corsair k95 platinum, razer blackwidow v2 (green switches), k70 mk.2 se (speed switches), and now this. The blackwidow v1 should by now have updated razer switches where they’re not kailh any longer, so in that case if you are a fan of that blocky gamer font and want those macro keys with the passthroughs, go for it. Personally, I’m not the biggest fan of the font and the audio passthroughs aren’t necessary unless you’re on a laptop or something without access to those. For the corsair k95 platinum, I’d recommend it only if you are a big fan of brown switches and don’t mind the blocky gamer font with the insane price tag, the media keys and usb passthrough came in handy though (that this keyboard doesn’t have which is the only thing I kinda miss). The blackwidow v2 is basically this keyboard with a usb passthrough and with a wrist rest, but I will say that the keycaps feel worse quality and also it’s not offered in white, which is why I bought the X. The mk.2 is nice for people who want cherry switches and they get the whole spectrum of choices from that keyboard, so it’s hard to not recommend it, but in my case I wanted it in white so I was forced to get the speed switches (only switch available for the se) and I missed the click. So here I am, at the page for a clicky white keyboard with honestly a higher quality build in certain areas, such as the spacebar. The spacebar on the mk.2 rattles so bad it’s honestly terrible, especially for a $170m keyboard.

I was fine with this keyboard until a recent Razer update suggested installation of their crypto mining software. Yes it’s optional but it’s very concerning to me that they would even consider pushing this out to their users. If I hadn’t carefully read the details, it would install software that would use my gpu to mine crypto currency in the background. While they do pay you with Razer merchandise credits, there is a cap on how much you can accrue and the cost of electricity looks more than the credits are worth. Razer lost a lot of trust from me on this one. When I install drivers for my keyboard I don’t want to worry about potentially opting into a crypto mining agreement.
